Avery Dennison REACH compliant products in the market

25-Sep-2015 Avery Dennison is committed to providing safe, high-quality materials that meet health & safety standards whilst having minimal impact on the environment. As a result, we are in the process of updating all our European Signage films to become REACH compliant.

Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) is a European Union regulation which came into force on 1 June 2007, with a phased implementation through to 2018. REACH addresses the production and use of chemical substances, and their potential impacts on both human health and the environment and will affect industries throughout the world. As part of the next phase of REACH implementation, lead chromates, which are commonly used colour pigments, have been evaluated under the legislation.

Consequently, the REACH compliance update will change the colours offered as part of our Signage portfolio moving forward as we transition to lead-free pigments. The majority of our products have not been affected, since the colour pigments did not contain lead.

The product ranges updated are 500 Event Film, 700 Premium Film, 800 Premium Cast, 900 Super Cast and 5500 QM Translucent Film.

REACH compliant films are now out in the market and you may see some changes starting to appear in the products that you use. For further information, please download the Market Update or Newletter from the links below or contact you local Spandex Sales representative.
