Visual Connections Holds Successful AGM & Member Meeting

25-Nov-2023

Visual Connections has reported on a successful year at its Annual General Meeting held last night at The Winery in Surrey Hills, Sydney. The meeting was followed by the Association’s final Member Meeting which celebrated the festive season.

Tanya Kunze from ExtraStaff updated the meeting on the current skills shortage – a presentation that was welcomed by many seeking solutions. This was followed by the Annual General Meeting, chaired by new General Manager, Sarah Moore.

Members heard a summary of the year’s activities from President John Wall. “2023 will no doubt be remembered as the year we finally moved into a post-pandemic world. At Visual Connections, it has been a year of successfully adapting to change and rising to the challenges which persist,” John said, mentioning the success of Visual Impact Sydney and the Visual Connections / ASGA Careers Initiative as particular highlights of the year.

Following the President’s Report, Board Member Mitch Mulligan presented the financial statements and attendees were given an insight into plans for 2024, with a focus on how the association is meeting the challenges of a rapidly evolving market.

Successful Board elections confirmed the Visual Connections Board for 2024. Mark Canavan from Graphic Art Mart was voted onto the Board and Ian Martin, Ferag, Andrea Trumble, Pozitive, Ben Eaton, Starleaton (Vice President) and Mitchell Mulligan from Bottcher Australia were returned unopposed. They join John Wall, Roland DG (President) and Russell Cavenagh, Mutoh who are continuing their terms.

The night concluded with a convivial Member Meeting over drinks and canapés, the final of these popular networking sessions for 2023.
