Business Development Manager

We have an excellent set of long term existing clients and, as part of our business strategy, are seeking opportunities to develop in new sectors.  As part of this continued business re-focus and through recent growth, we have an opportunity for an experienced, results-driven Business Development Manager.  This person will answer to the General Manager and be an integral part of our team.  We are looking for that “right” person to join us and to continue working with our exceptional clients while also contributing to our future growth.

This role requires an individual with a proven track record within the digital and large format print sector of managing existing business relationships, driving new business sales, demonstrating excellent communication and relationship building skills and the drive to succeed. Experience with packaging and online sales would also be an advantage. 

Providing exceptional levels of customer service is key for our business and for this role. It will be essential that the successful applicant take responsibility for the end-to-end customer journey – from enquiry to delivery. Being a team player and working successfully as part of a keen and dynamic team is also essential.  There is the opportunity to develop this role further into a management capacity in the future.

The Business Development Manager will have responsibility for:

  • Proactively following up sales data from ongoing targeted marketing and intelligence and proactively seek new business opportunities, using their own initiative and tactics to help drive short-term sales and longer-term partnerships.
  • Help develop and follow an agreed sales plan to meet or exceed targeted sales from new and existing client base.
  • Set and attend client meetings and presentations, pulling on internal resources for support as required to help initiate longer-term partnerships while also aiding and converting shorter term wins.
  • Attend regular sales review meetings with the broader management team.
  • Liaise with internal resources including Estimating, Account Management and Graphics teams, to ensure excellent service throughout the whole customer journey.

 Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Proven sales experience in the digital and large format print industry
  • Tenacity and drive with a proven background of achieving sales targets and KPIs
  • Ability to sell to a variety of clients across different sectors
  • Ability to open doors and identify new business opportunities through developing and nurturing relationships
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written and spoken)
  • Confident presentation skills to senior stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent administration skills to enter order information and update the company systems in an effective and timely manner
  • A team player who is also happy to work on their own and be both creative and proactive
  • Flexible approach to working with excellent time management
  • Proficiency in IT and digital sales tools e.g. Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn

A competitive salary package comprising base plus commission, as well as car allowance, company mobile and laptop are on offer for the right person. We are looking for an ASAP start and there is the potential to support relocation to Canberra for the right applicant.
