Epson brings its “push the button” demonstration to LGITSA 2026 to showcase the benefits of Heat-Free printing
Epson will exhibit at the Local Government Information Technology South Australia Conference and Gala Awards on stand 16 on 5 and 6 November 2026 at the Amora Hotel Adelaide, using a live side by side demonstration to show council technology teams what Heat-Free inkjet printing delivers in the environments they actually manage.

Epson is bringing its “push the button” demonstration to the show floor. Two printers sit together on the stand, an Epson WorkForce Pro EM-C800 and a comparable laser device and delegates are invited to press a single button that triggers both to print the same document at the same time. The demonstration brings to life a difference that procurement spreadsheets rarely capture.

Pages per minute ratings are measured over long continuous runs, but the print jobs that fill a council's working day are mostly short. A permit, a meeting agenda, a customer letter, a set of rates notices being spot checked before a mail merge. These are jobs of a handful of pages and they are exactly where a device that needs to warm up before the first page emerges feels slow in the hand.
Epson Heat-Free business inkjet begins printing almost immediately, because there is no fuser to bring up to temperature.
The difference between inkjet and laser printing becomes tangible the moment a delegate presses the button, making a far stronger impression than anything they could read in a tender document.
The advantage is just as clear when it comes to energy consumption. With no fuser to heat, less energy is consumed and thus running costs are reduced.
Council sustainability reporting and ratepayer expectations have made operational energy use a live consideration for IT and finance teams alike and power draw that no longer has to be justified is power draw that stops appearing in a budget review.
There are also fewer parts to replace and less material going to landfill with Epson inkjet printing solutions, which matters to organisations with waste reduction targets written into their strategies.
The WorkForce Pro EM-C800 is the model that will carry the demonstration and it is the device Epson expects local government buyers to weigh most closely as a replacement candidate for ageing departmental printers.
It is an A4 colour business inkjet built for the working volumes a council produces, with duplex printing, scanning, copying and faxing handled in one machine. As the print engine is Heat-Free, the device reaches its first page almost immediately, holds its energy consumption down during operation and avoids the heat and service demands that come with a fuser-based design.
For council IT teams, the practical appeal sits in the running cost and the maintenance profile rather than any single headline number. Departments looking to retire end of life equipment can consolidate several ageing desktop devices into managed devices that draw less power, need fewer consumable interventions and produce less waste. That is a straightforward answer to the theme running through this year's conference.
LGITSA has spent 11 years establishing itself as an advocate for information technology and information management professionals across South Australian local government and the conference now draws technology professionals, executive leaders and geospatial specialists together in one place.
Epson attends because the people in these sessions make the decisions. A council's print and imaging estate is one of the few areas of IT spending where a considered change reduces cost, lowers energy use, cuts waste and improves the day-to-day experience of the staff and residents who interact with it.
Those outcomes touch finance, sustainability and service delivery at the same time, which is precisely the balance the conference theme of Keep, Change and Retire asks delegates to think about.
The biennial cycle of fleet replacement also means many delegates arrive with a live decision in front of them. Epson's team will be available across both days to discuss device selection, total running costs and the migration path from a mixed estate of power-hungry older printers.
Event DetailsThe Local Government Information Technology South Australia Conference and Gala Awards runs across Thursday 5 and Friday 6 November 2026 at the Amora Hotel Adelaide.
Day one sessions run from 8:00 am to 4:15 pm and day two from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
The program covers keynote speakers, executive presentations, expert panels, roundtables and practical sessions across digital transformation, cyber security, artificial intelligence, information management, data governance and business systems.
Epson's stand 16 will be open throughout both days of the exhibition.
