Letterheads NZ 2022 update

So Letterheads 2022 is now just eight weeks away, if you’ve already registered – thank you for being prompt, otherwise here’s what to expect. In keeping with the last few years, we will be rolling back to the basics, focusing on painting and sharing knowledge. The theme will be Red and Blue, and we will be heading down a 3D route.

Everyone will be given a channel letter to paint and globe lights will be available for purchase if you want to jazz it up and add some flare. Select your letter upon registering, and the rest is up to you. We will have panels and bowling pins; and Lydia has her fingers crossed for a demo derby car; however, if you have your projects ready, dive in.

Anne McDonald of Signs of Art in Christchurch will hold the gold gilding class, Anne will have just returned from the bi-ennial Society of Gilder's Conference held in Asheville, North Carolina where her skills will have been demonstrated to an international audience. There are limited spaces for gilding available, so get in quick! Gilding will be an extra $20 with everything you need to learn some new tricks. Tick this option on the registration page when registering if you wish to participate. Also, in the immortal words of Adele, ‘rumour has it’ that we’ll be joined by Bruce Jackson and Ian (Reg) Rhook from the lucky country. Bruce, Reg and Anne were part of a team that created fifty plus painted, airbrushed and gilded windows on Mickey Avenue at Disneyland Shanghai a few years back under Bruce’s leadership.

Breakfast will be provided at the workshop on Saturday and Sunday mornings, with lunch on both Friday and Saturday. You'll find a coffee cart in the carpark every morning; this is a pay-as-you-go service. Friday night is tacos, and Saturday is noodle bowls and dumplings with cold beverages throughout the weekend.

The workshop will be opening from 8 am every morning and shutting up at 8 pm; those wanting to carry on the night can head to the bar across the carpark, where a tab will be set up for you.

Magoo’s street rods will have brushes and Alphanamel paints available for purchase on the day for those interested.

A shuttle will be provided to and from the airport for those who need it, flight numbers, arrival and departure times can be nominated when registering. We will also offer drop-offs to local motels and train stations for those further out.

Letterheads T-Shirts will be available as per below. These are only available to those who have selected this option on registering as they will be made to order, so please don’t leave it to the last minute.
