These innovative collections celebrate natural beauty, tactile surfaces and responsible production, offering designers, brands and print specialists new creative possibilities grounded in sustainability.

Globally recognised as pioneers in alternative fibre papermaking, Gmund continues to lead the way in producing some of the world’s most beautiful and environmentally responsible papers. Inspired by nature’s colours and textures, both new ranges align with growing demand for materials that are as sustainable as they are visually distinctive.

Gmund Les Naturals: Refined, Recycled, Remarkable

Gmund Les Naturals is a premium card collection crafted from 100% recycled plant-based wastepaper produced at Gmund Paper’s French mill, Cartonnerie Jean FG. The range is unbleached, resulting in subtle variations from sheet to sheet - a hallmark of its authentic, natural character. It has also been awarded the German government’s prestigious “Blue Angel” eco-label for exceptional environmental production standards.

Key Features:

. Weight: 330gsm card.

. Surface: Super-matt, with visible plant flecks and inclusions; one side more textured.

. Colours (8): Anthracite, Chocolat, Calcaire, Ivoire, Olivine, Opale Rosa, Rubis, Saphir.

. Formats: A4, A3, SRA3 and flat sheets; printed and unprinted pockets, sleeves, placecards and tags.

Print Compatibility:

. Digital CMYK, white, gold and silver (stock dependent).

. Traditional methods including Blind Embossing, Letterpress and Hot Foil Press.

. Finishing: Suitable for traditional, digital and laser die cutting and scoring.

. Duplexing: Up to 660gsm.

Important Notes:

Texture and colour variations are inherent due to the recycled, unbleached nature of the stock. Solid digital ink coverage and very fine typography are not recommended. Sample prints are encouraged for optimal results.

Gmund Mother Earth: Raw Texture, Natural Colour

 Inspired by the tones and textures of the planet, Gmund Mother Earth is milled from 50% alternative fibres, including grass and grain waste, blended with FSC-certified wood pulp. Natural dyes give the pulp its earthy hues, while the visible plant fibres create a uniquely tactile, organic surface.

. Weight: 350gsm card.

. Surface: Matt, highly tactile with visible fibres on both sides.

. Colours (4): Apricot, Curcuma, Grain, Hay.

. Formats: A4, A3, SRA3 and flat sheets; printed and unprinted pockets, sleeves, place cards and tags.

Print Compatibility:

. Digital CMYK, white, gold and silver (stock dependent).

. Ideal for Blind Embossing, Letterpress and Hot Foil Press.

. Finishing: Suitable for traditional, laser and digital die cutting (texture affects crispness).

. Duplexing: Up to 700gsm.

Important Notes:

The texture is the defining feature of this range. Designers are advised to avoid heavy digital ink coverage and very fine detail. For best construction results, hot glue is recommended for assembling pockets and sleeves. Sample prints are strongly advised.
