SCREEN plans to showcase a wide range of solutions during the program, specially for international companies, to be held from Wednesday November 4th to Friday 6th. The preceding week will be for Japanese language visitors.

SCREEN s320sheetfed press will be part of Horizon’s Smartfactory

The event will focus on a theme of “Coexistence: the automated future,” with participating companies presenting solutions that utilise cutting-edge technologies such as automated guided vehicles (AGVs), robots and AI to automate and streamline entire production processes from printing and postpress to packaging and transportation. Participants will also demonstrate how inter-process transfers using autonomous mobile robots and integration with workflow systems can help realise next-generation Smart Factories where people and technologies coexist.

For its part, SCREEN will use its EQUIOS workflow platform and a Horizon robot transfer system to connect its Truepress JET 520HD mono and Truepress JET S320 A3 sheetfed digital press with Horizon postpress equipment. This configuration significantly improves automation of production processes, helping to reduce personnel requirements.

Books, brochures and commercial print

During the event, SCREEN will also be assisting Horizon with demonstrations of two systems that enable rapid, high-quality production of high-resolution booklets. One demonstration will feature hardcover binding using a section sewn binding line designed for digital printing from Smyth, while the other will showcase saddle-stitching of booklets using the iCE STITCHLINER Mark V.

In both cases, SCREEN will provide sheets and rolls pre-printed on its Truepress JET 560HDX high-speed roll-fed digital inkjet press, which is known for its ability to quickly produce materials with exceptional colour and image quality.

In addition to the main exhibit configurations of Truepress Jet 520HD continuous feed,

JET S320 sheet- fed inkjet system and JET 560HDX full colour web press, SCREEN’s solution for the prepress stage will focus on the automation of data processing, using SCREEN’s EQUIOS workflow, Horizon’s  RD-N4055 rotary die-cut system and DAC Engineering’s Prenity inspection system plus robotic transfer.

SCREEN GP Australia Managing Director, Peter Scott comments: “It’s a real privilege to be working so closely with Horizon to present configurations for entire processes from printing to postpress and inspection as a single workflow while introducing solutions that help to maintain the balance between quality control and production efficiency. Anyone interested in attending can contact me on email: peters@screenaust.com.au . With Kyoto only one-hour away from Takashima by train, this is also an opportunity to explore this beautiful city.”
