Screen opens up Interfaces for EQUIOS workflows

SCREEN GP Australia reports that SCREEN Graphic Solutions in Japan recently delivered presentation at “JAGAT Topic Technical Seminar 2026,” under the theme “The Value Created by EQUIOS Open I/F.”

Peter Scott, Managing Director of SCREEN GP Australia and New Zealand

EQUIOS is SCREEN’s long-established prepress print management platform that continues to evolve from the original TrueFlow, as a simple-to-use  and versatile operation system for all SCREEN output devices including digital presses, proofers, variable data and CtP. It has traditionally been reserved for SCREEN’s own equipment.  Organized by the Japan Association of Graphic Arts Technology (JAGAT), the seminar focused on identifying trends in printing technology based on notable products, technologies, and services released during the year.

Opening up to 3rd parties

In SCREEN’s session, the company introduced EQUIOS Open I/F (Open Interface), which enables flexible integration between EQUIOS, and external systems or third-party solutions - enhancing workflow scalability and flexibility.

The power of EQUIOS workflow platform, now accessible via Open Interface to all customers.

This open architecture delivers value such as: - Improved visibility into job-level profitability - Automation across production processes

- Reduction of operational costs and human errors  Peter Scott, Managing Director of SCREEN GP Australia and New Zealand, says: “While we have worked with third-party systems for our customers in the past, this official policy of Open Interface will enable access to the amazing power of the EQUIOS platform. Ultimately, these benefits will contribute to higher productivity and better management outcomes for printing and packaging companies who use a mixture of output devices, including, but not exclusively SCREEN’s. It’s a win-win for customers.”

Other SCREEN news

SCREEN has recently received several prestigious awards for its printing technologies including:

Two EDP (European Digital Press Association) Awards for  the recently introduced Truepress JET 560HDX reel-fed inkjet press that can print on standard offset stock and one for the Truepress PAC 830F flexible packaging inkjet machine that uses sustainable water-based inks and sports an 830mm wide web for normal flexible packaging materials such as PP and PET.

The Truepress JET 560HDX high-speed 560mm web inkjet press.

In another acknowledgement of SCREEN’s inkjet press quality, the US-based Printing United organisation bestowed ‘Certified Digital Press System’ on the high-speed Truepress JET 560HDX web machine. This prestigious certification validates that the 560HDX produces print reproduction, density stability, and colour accuracy comparable to traditional commercial offset printing.
