The secret behind signage that doesn't fade

The Circuit at Blackwood Park

Background

The Circuit at Blackwood Park, South Australia, is a boutique development of 12 allotments along the estate’s eastern edge, offering residents sweeping views across the Coromandel Valley and the hills beyond.

It’s the kind of address that sells on first impressions, and the developer wanted on-site signage that reflected the quality of the homes it was promoting from day one of the campaign.

Now completely sold out, The Circuit needed marketing signage that could hold its own against the surrounding landscape, catch the eye of passing traffic, and stand up to a long selling campaign in the open air, all without compromising on quality.

With a limited number of allotments to sell and no room for a second attempt if the first sign didn’t perform, getting the signage right from the outset mattered. It needed to work as hard on day one as it did in the final weeks of the campaign, holding up its end of the marketing effort while the rest of the sales strategy ran its course.

Challenge

Outdoor real estate signage takes a beating. Positioned outdoors for months at a time, it’s exposed to sun, wind and rain, and it needs to maintain its colour and shape throughout the sales campaign. A sign that fades, warps or delaminates halfway through a campaign undoes months of marketing effort and reflects poorly on the development it represents.

A development of this calibre also demanded a premium finish: true colour, crisp branding and a flat, consistent surface that would do the property justice. On top of that, the panel needed to be practical to fabricate in production and straightforward to transport and install once on site, without adding complexity for the installation team or blowing out production timelines or costs.

The brief called for a material that could deliver a premium finish with the resilience of an industrial product, a combination that isn’t always easy to find in one panel.

Solution

VIEWpanel, HVG Graphics Media’s aluminium composite material (ACM), was the clear fit.

Built from two layers of aluminium sheet around a high-density polyethylene core, VIEWpanel is engineered to withstand harsh Australian conditions for the long haul, while remaining lightweight enough to fabricate, transport and install with ease. Its PET-coated surface is purpose-built for latex and UV digital printing, giving the signage for The Circuit vibrant colour and sharp detail from day one, and keeping it that way for the duration of the campaign.

The panel’s smooth, flat surface gave the production team the versatility they needed, delivering uniform colour reproduction and a premium finish across the full sign face. Because VIEWpanel can be easily cut, grooved and shaped, it was straightforward to fabricate to the exact size and format the site required, without adding time or complexity to the install.

The result was signage as impressive as the address it was promoting, tough enough to withstand months outdoors, and polished enough to match a development that’s now completely sold out. From first installation to final sale, the ACM held its colour, its shape and its edge, doing exactly the job it was put there to do.
