Women in Print Champion Regional Print Careers at North West Regional Careers Expo

Women in Print Australia is proud to announce that Regional Ambassador Jo Biggar from Country Mile Signs will represent the organisation, and the industry, at the upcoming North West Regional Careers Expo, to be held at the Tamworth Regional Entertainment Conference Centre (TRECC) on Wednesday, 14 May 2025.

Jo will be hosting a dedicated Women in Print table to connect with local students, and showcase career opportunities in the print, signage, and packaging industries, and inspire the next generation of women in regional communities.

The North West Regional Careers Expo is the largest regional careers expo for Years 10, 11, and 12 students in New South Wales, expecting to welcome over 2,200 students from across the New England region. The event provides valuable access to a wide range of exhibitors from various industries, offering students insights into diverse career and business development opportunities. Exhibitors are also given an opportunity to speak with parents at a dedicated parent’s night the day before.

Jo brings not only her local insight but also her passion for promoting trade careers to young women. “I’m excited to be sharing stories from women working in our industry and encouraging students to explore creative, technical, and hands-on pathways they may not have considered before,” Jo said. “It's so important for regional students to see what’s possible, and where a trade qualification in our industry could lead.”

Women in Print Chair, Stephanie Gaddin, says “Our first Regional Ambassador is at the heart of our broader community engagement. Jo’s commitment to opening doors for young women into signage, printing and other related skills and trades,  reflects exactly what Women in Print is about—real conversations, real options, and genuine support.”

Visual Connections, have generously provided support material in the form of the exemplary Sign & Print Careers booklets that the associations program uses at city based career fairs around the country. Helping to bring career pathways to life with industry-specific information and a tangible take home resource that they can refer to many times over.

Karren Challoner-Miles, Executive General Manager of Visual Connections, adds “We’re delighted to see Jo leading this regional initiative for Women in Print and happy to support this initiative with our Sign & Print Career Connections resources. Inspiring, equipping and encouraging young people, at the very start of their creative or trade career journey is one of the most impactful ways we can shape the future of our industry.”

Women in Print encourages local students, educators, and career advisors from the New England region to visit the Women in Print stand at the North West Regional Careers Expo to learn more about the diverse and rewarding opportunities across print, signage, and related sectors.
