Positive Response to PacPrint Postponement

The postponement of PacPrint 2021 to mid-2022 has been positively received by the industry, with most agreeing the move was inevitable and, in fact, desirable to maximise the event’s success.

While many – both suppliers and industry businesses – expressed disappointment that the industry’s favourite show could not proceed in September, there is wide acceptance that the current outbreaks in Sydney and, to a lesser extent, in other States, have made the prospect of an in-person expo in 2021 increasingly unviable.

For exhibitors, it’s a blow, but one which is balanced by the increased prospect of national – and international – participation in events by the middle of next year, with most expressing the view that the already evident enthusiasm from industry businesses for the chance to view new technologies and innovations in person will, if anything, be even stronger by then.

That attitude saw most of those who had already signed up for the show confirm their bookings for the new dates.

“The show is already more than 60% subscribed, with existing exhibitors eager to go ahead on the new dates and a good number of companies which were still considering their participation in September now very keen to secure some of the remaining space for the show,” says Visual Connections Events Manager, Jenny Harris.

“The new dates were the first available timeslot we were able to arrange with the MCEC to allow us similar bump in and bump out times, and in which we could secure the same space from Bays 3 – 11 as had been locked in for September.

“That is terrific news for those who have already started the planning and design of their stands, as they can be confident that their position and orientation, as well as the location of services like power, compressed air and water connections, will be unchanged.”

Deposits for the show will be held over to the new dates, with Harris saying anyone with questions about the new dates, contracts or the Government’s Business Events Grants, should contact the events team.

“In particular, those who had successfully applied for Business Events Grants should be aware that the grant monies can only be used for participation in PacPrint, so anything remaining – after deposits which have already been paid – must be used towards the event or returned to the Government.”

PacPrint, Visual Impact and the Label & Packaging Expo, will cover more than 7,000m2 across Bays 3 – 11 at the MCEC, with much of that space already reserved for some of the industry’s leading suppliers. To book a stand, contact Peter Harper on 0418 267 952 or email the events team at exhibitions@visualconnections.org.au and ensure you rebook flights and accommodation.
